Apple launches latest iPad Pro with trackpad support & LiDAR scanner

US-based technology company Apple has recently unveiled the latest version of its iPad Pro model. The new version, powered by the A12Z Bionic chip, is equipped with several cutting-edge features including a breakthrough LiDAR scanner, studio-quality mics, Ultra-Wide camera and more.

The new LiDAR scanner offers advanced depth-sensing properties, which supports more pro workflows as well as pro photo and video applications. The scanner, alongside other features like Liquid Retina display, motion sensors, pro cameras, pro performance, pro audio and powerful applications, is designed to position the iPad Pro as the leading device for augmented reality (AR) across the globe.

The new iPad with the iPadOS 13.4 also features trackpad support, opening up a new way for users to interact with their device. The trackpad, which has been reimagined for iPad, has Multi-Touch gesture support, which makes navigating the system faster and easier for the users. When users move their finger along the trackpad, the pointer shifts accordingly to highlight various elements in the user interface.

In addition to these features, Apple has also unveiled a new keyboard feature for the iPad Pro, dubbed Magic Keyboard. The Magic Keyboard is backlit and features a trackpad, along with a floating design that allows for smoother angle adjustment.

Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller has reportedly been quoted as stating that through the new iPad Pro, Apple is bringing advanced, never-before-seen technologies to the mobile computing sphere. He further expressed his belief that the product will be well-received by customers, given the combination of sophisticated technologies like the LiDAR scanner and Magic Keyboard, among others.

Senior VP of Software Engineering for Apple, Craig Federighi also commented on the launch, stating that the new iPad has been made even more versatile and capable due to the addition of trackpad support to the iPadOS. He added that this technology is the product of careful consideration regarding ways to integrate trackpad support into a touch-first device, whilst maintaining the features that make the iPad a popular product among customers.
