Nordic Consulting expands Cerner division with S&P acquisition

By Pankaj Singh

Nordic Consulting, a global technology, and health consulting company has reportedly acquired S&P Consultants, a healthcare IT consultancy firm with a market-leading reputation for Cerner services.

S&P Consultants will be included in the Nordic global family-alongside Tasman, Healthtech, and Bails- to collectively help healthcare leaders in navigating complexity and harnessing technology to foster healthcare.

Nordic marked its entry into the Cerner market in July 2019. The inclusion of S&P will enable the company to expand its presence in the market and rapidly proliferate this base. The global EHR consulting market is touted to showcase significant growth over the next five years as healthcare providers look to centralize operations to reduce costs and enhance quality.

The extensive experience and global footprint of Nordic in MEDITECH and Epic combined with the Cerner expertise of S&P presents a huge opportunity for both companies to offer clients a variety of technology and advisory services across the biggest EHR platforms. The combined organization will service around 600 healthcare provider customers around the globe.

According to Jim Costanzo, the Chief Executive Officer at Nordic Consulting, the S&P acquisition indicates a crucial step towards the company’s vision of building a new healthcare era where every person on a care team can seamlessly connect to make businesses, systems, and people healthier.

Costanzo added that S&P and its client will benefit from Nordic’s global presence and deep expertise across digital initiatives, implementation, strategic advisory, and enterprise technology transformation.

Andrew Splitz, the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of S&P Consultants expressed that the company’s mission of serving clients with integrity and honesty aligns with Nordic’s principles of building trust among customers through long-term collaborations and delivering impacts that change the business.

For the record, S&P Consultants was founded by the late Steve Pratt and Andrew Splitz in 1996. It started as a lab company that served Cerner users and evolved into a highly reputable healthcare IT consultancy by collaborating with labs, hospitals, and physician networks.
